Porsche teases next-gen Panamera, unveil at Paris Motor Show

Porsche has teased the upcoming next-gen Panamera through a small video clip and an image. The 2017 Panamera is expected to be unveiled at this year's Paris Motor Show, which is scheduled in the month of October.

The rear profile visible in an image which was released with the official video points out that Porsche has significantly revamped the design of its upcoming four-door sedan. It is apparent that the design of new-gen Panamera is inspired from the latest 911 series. As a result, it gets sleeker taillight assemblies, and a thin light strip running across the width of the tail gate. Beneath this light strip lies the Porsche branding.

The 2017 Porsche Panamera will underpin an all-new MSB platform. This new platform has been made using light-weight, high-strength materials. This has helped the new Panamera to be around 90 kg lighter than the outgoing model, despite having a slightly longer wheelbase.

Porsche has developed a new family of engines for the new Panamera, which includes turbocharged V6 and V8 blocks. A plug-in hybrid powertrain will also be offered with the next-gen Panamera, though it will be released at a later date.

After its 2016 Paris Motor Show unveil, the Panamera will also get a shooting brake variant, named the Sport Turismo.
