Hyundai has announced that it has recorded its highest-ever monthly domestic sales in India in the month of October 2015. The company has sold 47,015 cars in the month. In October 2014, it had sold 38,010 vehicles, which indicates a year on year growth of 23.7%.
Hyundai claims that it has sold 18,244 units of the Elite i20, i20 Active and Creta in the month. The sales of the Grand i10 have touched an all-time high as well with 14,079 units being sold.
While Hyundai's domestic sales have increased, its exports have fallen. In the month of October 2015, the company shipped out 14,777 units. This is a drop of 17.9% compared to October 2014 (18,009 units).the company's cumulative sales stood at 61,792 units.
In terms of passenger vehicle sales, Hyundai is placed second in the domestic market, behind Maruti Suzuki. It has ten car models on sale in India including the Eon, i10, Grand i10, Elite i20, Active i20, Xcent, Verna, Creta, Elantra and Santa Fe.
Hyundai ranks first among all Indian manufacturers when it comes to export sales. It currently exports to around 85 countries across Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
