Czech carmaker Skoda has released official images unveiling the next-generation Fabia hatchback. The car will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.
The new Fabia sports Skoda's new design and uses design elements from the Vision C concept. It has a more angular design than its predecessor. There is a wide front grille and narrow headlamps which are in line with other cars in the Skoda line-up. The car has sportier C-pillar, a redesigned tailgate with a small spoiler on it and restyled tail lamps.
The new Fabia is said to use a reworked version of Volkswagen's PQ26 platform. The car has gained some width and is expected to have better cabin and boot space. However, with the re-engineered chassis it also manages to be lighter than its predecessor.
Engine options for the new Fabia will include 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder and 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol units and a 1.4 litre diesel units. A DSG automatic transmission is likely to be offered on the 4-cylinder petrol engines.
Skoda has not revealed any plans of bringing the Fabia to India.
