The next-generation Hyundai Verna has been spotted testing in Chennai.
The spy images indicate that the Indian Verna could be based on the Russia-spec Hyundai Solaris. It appears to have similar sweptback headlamp clusters with U-shaped daytime running lights. The car has a Cascade grille with a diamond-shaped mesh pattern and circular fog lamps. The test car has ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, wraparound tail lights and a shark fin antenna.
In India, the BS6 version of the Verna is expected to get the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that powers the Kia Seltos. It produces 114 BHP and 144 Nm and could be offered with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The new Verna is also likely to get a BS6-compliant diesel engine.
