My thoughts and impressions: 2022 KTM 390 Adventure

I recently spotted the upcoming 2022 KTM Adventure 390 at a showroom and here's what I found out.

There are only a few updates on the bike and the paint scheme is the only major change. These are all the updates I could find:

• New 5X2 spoke alloy wheels instead of the 6X2 spoke on the older version which they claim are lighter yet stronger than before.
• Riding modes have been added viz. Street and Off-road. I do not know the difference between them as no one is offering a test ride yet.
• Traction control now also has the same two modes as above.
• They claimed that the bike can now remember the modes you have set even after turning it off but I was unable to test this.
• Two new paint schemes.

The prices of the bikes will remain the same or have a slight price hike in the Rs. 2000 ballpark but neither dealership I visited could confirm the same. One of the dealerships even said that the price will remain same for a month post launch and will receive a Rs. 20000-30000 price hike in the coming months but I think this is just speculation. The current on-road cost of the bike in Pune is Rs. 392000-395000 depending on the cost of insurance included by the dealer. I was also offered the outgoing model at a Rs. 5000-10000 discount by a dealership so those who want a good deal or don't want/like the new colors, this is the right time to hunt for a good discount. The new bike will launch in the coming weeks, I was told on the 26th of Feb by one dealership and I expect it to be around Rs. 400000 On-road Pune.

I've been in love with the Adventure 390 since I saw it at a launch event in January of 2020 and now I'm finally going to be able to buy it soon. I've also listed my 2017 Duke 250 for sale on our Team BHP Classifieds as I will be replacing it with the new bike.

My excitement levels have been through the roof since the news of these updated models broke on the 2nd of December 2021 and I've been trying to quench my thirst for this bike by looking at the few images that are available online and a few poorly shot videos on YouTube. However, none of them gave a feel of how it would look in real life. Both the new paint schemes looked stunning in person and very different from what you will see online. So I've tried my best to capture a 360 degree view of both the colors in different lighting conditions hoping to give you a feel of how they look in person.
