Mumbai to Bhopal & back in my Toyota Hyryder: Key points from the trip

The driver's seat does not feel comfortable, had a bad back pain after 18hr drive

BHPian aks812 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Last week had a 1660km trip Mumbai-Bhopal and return in my 19 month old Hyryder G Hybrid. We were 3 in the car, 2 human and 1 Bruno and their respective luggage.

Mumbai-Bhopal took 18hr10min thanks to the traffic and diversions till Nashik and then bad road till Dhule. Inspite of the heat (temperature touching 36*) and traffic, managed to get 27.1kmpl as per MID.

Bhopal-Mumbai was normal 14hr drive, car gave the most average till date, 28.7kmpl as per MID.

Few points from the trip:

  • The work on the sunroof did the job intended. It has 2 films, 1 for heat reduction and another to cut the light.
  • AC was kept at Auto 23-24 and never felt the need to go below 23* even during the afternoon heat outside.
  • Have been using XP95 petrol for sometime now and the engine feels much smoother and low vibrations at the start. The NVH has also reduced considerably, though it costed 113Rs/ltr in Bhopal.
  • Tyre pressure was kept at 32psi and it went max till 36psi during the drive.
  • Speed was kept around 90-100kmph on the highway both sides, wherever possible.
  • Stock Apollo tyres are good and not hard as Goodyears but they do give road noise, planning to change them around 30k km.
  • The driver's seat does not feel comfortable, had a bad back pain after 18hr drive and had to drive with a small pillow for lumbar support on the way back to Mumbai. These fabric seats lack back support.
  • Used Power mode post M.P. border towards Bhopal but had only normal mode while coming back to Mumbai.
