A trademark filing by MG India suggests that the upcoming petrol version of the MG ZS could be named Astor. The SUV will be launched in Q3 2021.
The petrol ZS will be based on the facelift version that gets a few cosmetic updates including a reworked front fascia and new headlamp clusters. It also gets redesigned front and rear bumpers along with dual-tone alloy wheels.
On the inside, it gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
In India, the ZS will be offered with two petrol engine options. These include a 1.5-litre unit producing 118 BHP and 150 Nm and a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine with 161 BHP and 230 Nm. Expect it to come with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions.
