MG demonstrates adaptive cruise control with the Gloster

MG has released a video demonstrating the adaptive cruise control function in the upcoming Gloster SUV.

The adaptive cruise control feature maintains a set distance from the car in front. If the car in front slows down, the Gloster will also automatically slow down, and if the car in front accelerates or changes lanes, the Gloster will automatically increase speed to the set speed on the cruise control. At present, this feature is available in Volvo cars including the XC40.

The Gloster will come with Level 1 autonomous driving capability. In August 2020, MG released a video listing the safety features that the SUV will come equipped with. Earlier this month, the company released a video demonstrating the Automatic Parking Assist feature.

The SUV will come equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with voice commands, panoramic sunroof and an automatic tailgate. It could also get ventilated and heated seats and wireless charging.

The Gloster will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel producing 215 BHP and 480 Nm. It is expected to be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV will come with a four-wheel drive system, drive modes and traction modes.
