Mercedes-Benz will launch the 2017 GLA facelift in India on July 5, 2017. The car was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, held earlier this year.
The GLA facelift comes with some cosmetic tweaks, which include revised bumpers with a bigger air dam, a new front grille with chain-like chrome elements and new set of alloy wheels. The car also gets full LED headlamps, instead of the bi-xenon units that are on offer in the model that is currently on sale in India. The tail lights have also been revised and house LED elements.
The interior layout is similar to that of the current model. However, there is a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the instrument cluster receives a few minor changes and the seat upholstery has been revised.
In the international markets, the updated model features Active Brake Assist, a 360-degree parking camera with bird's eye view and electric tailgate with motion detection that can be opened or closed with a foot gesture. However, it is not known whether or not these features will be available with the India-spec model.
The GLA facelift is not expected to get any changes in the powertrain department. The car is likely to continue to be offered with two engine options - a 2.1-litre, four-cylinder diesel and a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol - both of which will be mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
