Maruti Suzuki Ciaz BS4 diesel discontinued

Maruti Suzuki has removed the Ciaz diesel from its website. Reports suggest that dealers have also stopped accepting bookings for the diesel version.

The Ciaz was available with an in-house developed 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine, which was not upgraded to meet BS6 emission regulations. It was also offered with a Fiat-sourced 1.3L engine which has since been discontinued.

On the other hand, the 1.5-litre petrol engine has been upgraded to meet the new regulations and will be the only engine option on the Ciaz until the in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel is upgraded for BS6 compliance. The 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology is also available on the Ertiga, XL6, Vitara Brezza and the S-Cross.
