Mahindra BE 6e electric SUV launched at Rs 18.90 lakh

The BE 6e will be initially offered in a single-motor RWD configuration.

Mahindra has launched the all-new BE 6e electric SUV in the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to commence by the end of February 2025.

The BE 6e is the first model under the BE sub-brand. The electric SUV coupe measures 4,371 mm in length, 1,907 mm in width, and 1,627 mm in height, and its wheelbase is 2,775 mm. The EV has a ground clearance of 207 mm and has a 455-litre boot as well as a 45-litre frunk.

The design of the BE 6e is based on the BE.05 concept. It features an athletic look with a coupe-like roof line and chunky wheel arches. It has a slim and aggressive-looking front fascia with U-shaped LED DRLs.

At the rear, the BE 6e gets LED taillights connected by an LED lightbar, a split rear spoiler, and a bumper with an integrated diffuser. The SUV rides on 19-inch aero-optimized wheels as standard, but customers will have the option to upgrade to 20-inch rims.

The interior of the BE 6e looks just as modern and futuristic as its exterior. It has dual 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system running the new MAIA software, over 30 pre-installed apps, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and a centre console that wraps around the driver, giving a cockpit-like look.

The BE 6e gets an augmented reality head-up display, wireless charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a powered driver’s seat with memory function, 5G connectivity with in-built Wi-Fi, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. It also has a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) feature, which allows users to plug in any external device on the front seat backs.

The Mahindra BE 6e is based on the INGLO platform. It will be offered with two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The former comes with an electric motor that produces 225 BHP and 380 Nm, while the larger battery is paired with a single electric motor producing 277 BHP and 380 Nm.

The BE 6e has three drive modes: Range, Everyday, and Race. Mahindra claims the electric SUV can complete the sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The 79 kWh battery pack has a claimed ARAI range of 682 km. It can be charged from 20-80% in 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger.

Safety features include a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags and Level 2 ADAS. The EV also has regenerative braking, semi-active suspension, brake-by-wire technology, and disc brakes all around.
