For those who drive sedately, this can be a good car. Anyone looking for sportiness will be disappointed.

After multiple attempts, was able to get a long test drive of the Honda Elevate - I'm no car expert but sharing observations from a layman's perspective after a 15 km city + highway test drive.
Highlight: The ergonomics and visibility from inside the car are spot on, didn't feel like I was driving this car for the first time.
Observations:
- The engine is smooth and there are no vibrations at city speeds up to 100 kmph. I could not test much beyond that - but in small sprints, the engine felt strained at higher speeds.
- At slower speeds, there's not much noise from the engine, but at higher speeds, the noise intrudes into the cabin and it's not a very pleasant experience. Traffic noise also seeps in quite a bit.
- The ride-handling balance is very good! The speeds are masked very well and reaching 100kmph is an easy affair.
- ADAS works well - I could check adaptive cruise and lane keep assist in the daytime. Wherever there's proper lane marking, it works accurately.
- AC is effective but not a chiller.
- Space inside the cabin is good and the boot can hold sufficient luggage for 4-5 people.
- The interiors are a nice place to be in, not very premium, but classy and understated, and will age well.
- Features-wise, it's minimal but has all the essential ones.
To conclude, engine and noise insulation are the weak points of this Honda. For those who drive sedately, this can be a good car. Anyone looking for sportiness will be disappointed. The upcoming EV version in 2025-26 might have higher torque and zero engine noise. It'll mitigate both the shortcomings and could be a game changer for Honda in India unless EV competition is miles ahead by then!
