Lack of racing gear availability in India, both online & offline

Even offline, it’s the same as I’ve yet to find any store selling car racing items

Couldn’t find a relevant thread hence created a new one, please merge if any exists.

I’ve tried for years now and still, even in 2024, there are zero Indian websites selling car racing helmets/gloves/HANS devices. Really basic stuff that one would expect someone to sell.

I’m into karting and have had to import every single piece of racing/karting related item from my helmet to gloves as nobody is selling it online. I’m talking well known, major brands like ARAI/Bell/Zamp, etc.

Plenty of bike helmet sellers but car helmets are very different (ventilation, visor is very different, among other design aspects.)

I know so many people who struggle with the exact same issue, importing and waiting nearly a month with customs duty is an additional headache that really is a major roadblock to more folks getting into racing/karting.

Even offline, it’s the same as I’ve yet to find any store selling car racing items, at least in Delhi-NCR. Maybe down south they have shops selling, but none are online.

If anyone has any info please post here, would love to order stuff domestically instead of having to import each time.

Hi,

Try Virtual Racing Hub. They have a website and a Demo Center in Dwarka as well. They are primarily into Sim Racing Equipment, but I just checked and they have Car Racing related gear as well like Helmets and Gloves.

The answer is quite simple! There is no market in India for car racing equipment, hence noone gets into that business. It is not just importing & selling that matters, after sales service also needs to be offered. Why would someone spend capital and set up a business which does so little business?

The biking scene is different. We have an ever evolving motorcycle touring culture here in India. Also, manufacturers have brought in multiple 400+ cc options, which can go quite fast. The middle class youngster is also able to afford most of these offerings. Hence, motorcycle gear shops have established themselves in India, both online & offline.
