KTM RC 390 and RC 200 launched in India

Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, KTM has launched the RC 390 and RC 200 from its Supersport series of bikes in India. Priced at Rs. 2.05 lakh and Rs. 1.60 lakh respectively, these full-faired bikes are based on the corresponding Duke motorcycles.

Like the 390 Duke , the RC 390 is powered by a 373.27 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 42.9 bhp @ 9000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque @ 7000 rpm. Again, like the Duke 200, the RC 200 uses a 199.5 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that develops 24.7 bhp @ 10000 rpm and 19.2 Nm @ 8000 rpm.

Both bikes get 6-speed transmissions, twin projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, trellis chassis with an aluminium swing arm, WP upside down front suspensions, WP monoshock rear suspensions and front and rear disc brakes. The RC 390 adds ABS and Metzeler tyres to the list of standard equipment. The RC 200 has to make do with MRF tyres. While the RC 390 weighs 166 kg, the RC 200 tips the scales at 154 kg.

Bookings for the RC 390 and RC 200 will commence from tomorrow and will be accepted at al KTM showrooms in the country. The company has a network of 140 exclusive dealerships at present.
