A test mule of what is believed to be the all-electric version of the Kia Carens has been spotted in South Korea. The new electric MPV is likely to debut around 2025.
The Carens EV test car appears to have the same bodyshell as the ICE version. It has a large glasshouse and a front fascia that looks similar to the MPV sold in India, with large, low-set headlamp clusters and LED daytime running lights.
Another notable difference between the EV and the ICE version is the wheels. While the Carens MPV comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, the electric version has aero-optimized wheels that look slightly larger.
Reports suggest the Carens EV could share its underpinnings with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV. That being said, details about the battery and electric motor / motors used in this car are still unknown.
