Indonesia: 2016 Toyota Innova launched!

Toyota has officially launched the 2016 Innova in Indonesia. The MPV is available in the Q (top), V (mid) and G (base) trims.

The Innova gets a dual VVT-i 2.0L petrol engine that makes 137 BHP @ 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm and a GD 2.4L diesel engine with a variable nozzle turbo (VNT) that makes 147 BHP @ 3,400 rpm and 342 Nm of torque @ 1,200 - 2,800 rpm (AT = 360 Nm @ 1,200-2,600 rpm).

Both engines are 4-cylinder, 16-valve mills, which can be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed automatic (with normal/eco/power drive modes) gearbox.

Making its global debut in Indonesia, the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) based Innova's length x width x height x wheelbase dimensions come in at 4,735 mm x 1,830 mm x 1,795 mm x 2,750 mm. Features include 17-inch alloy wheels (Q-diesel) or 16-inch alloy wheels (Q-petrol, V-trim, G-trim), projector lights and integrated day time running LEDs, a smart close rear door, puddle lamps, a smart key and entry request sensor.

On the inside, the MPV features blue LED cabin lighting, a brand new instrument cluster with a digital MID, a completely redesigned dashboard with wooden inserts, a new steering wheel with integrated controls, voice commands, automatic climate control, and a new touchscreen infotainment display with multiple connectivity options (CD, Bluetooth, i-Pod, HDMI, radio, Miracast wireless smartphone mirroring software and air gestures).

Rear passengers get roof mounted AC vents, foldable trays, seat base side mounted flip-out type cup holders and tumble forward 2nd row seats among other features. On the safety front, the new Innova is offered with an emergency brake signal system (hazard lights flash under panic braking), ABS with EBD, VSC, hill start assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, along with front, side, curtain and knee airbags (only dual front airbags + a driver knee airbag come as standard).

Prices in the Indonesian market range from 282,000,000 to 423,800,000 rupiah (INR 13.68 lakh - 20.52 lakh approx). The new Innova is expected to come to India in 2016 with the debut at the 2016 Delhi auto expo.
