Hyundai has announced the launch of the Ioniq 5 EV in India at an introductory price of Rs. 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ioniq 5 is the second EV from Hyundai after the Kona Electric. It is based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The car measures 4,635 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,625 mm in height and has a wheelbase is 3,000 mm.
The Ioniq 5 features a futuristic design with angular surfaces on the exterior. It comes with dual LED headlamps, pixelated LED tail lights, flush-fitting door handles and unique dual-tone alloys. The EV gets a minimalistic interior with a dual floating screen and a 2-spoke steering wheel.
In India, the Ioniq 5 is available in a single variant with a 72.6 kWh battery pack. It has an ARAI-certified range of 631 km on a single charge. The car comes with a rear-mounted electric motor that makes 216 BHP and 350 Nm. The Ioniq 5 also supports 800V fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10-80% in 18 minutes.
