Honda starts production of Jazz based crossover prototype

Honda Cars India has reportedly started production of first prototypes of the Jazz based crossover, which will be named as the Honda WR-V. This indicates that the automaker plans to start testing the WR-V in India in the coming months.

Made on the same platform that underpins the Jazz premium hatchback, the WR-V crossover will take significant design inspiration from the Jazz. Engine options on offer would be also be the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel from the Jazz hatch.

Additionally, BHP-ian RavenAvi has reported some Zauba import records which suggest that many component parts have been imported from China for the '2FM Project'. Interestingly, Honda has internally codenamed the Jazz based crossover project as 2FM. This further certifies the reports of production commencement of the Honda WR-V in India.

Honda plans to launch the Jazz based crossover later next year.
