Honda has launched the Jazz hatchback with a BS6-compliant petrol engine. It is available in three variants - V, VX and a newly introduced ZX trim. Prices for the car start at Rs. 7,49,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Besides the engine, Honda has also made a few changes to the exterior of the Jazz. The hatchback gets an updated front fascia with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED fog lamps. It also gets LED tail lights and comes with redesigned front and rear bumpers.
The Jazz gets a dual-tone interior with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with Weblink, voice commands, Bluetooth and a Wireless Infrared Remote. Some of the other notable features include a one-touch electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control and keyless entry and go.
The Jazz is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 89 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm @ 4,800 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that comes with paddle shifters. Honda claims that the manual version delivers a fuel economy of 16.6 km/l, while the CVT delivers 17.1 km/l. It is also said that CVT variants accounted for almost 70% of total Jazz sales in India last year.
The Jazz comes with with safety features such as airbags, ABS with EBD, rear view camera with guidelines, rear parking sensors and impact mitigating front headrests.
The Jazz BS6 is available with a 3 years / unlimited km warranty. Customers can opt for an extended warranty of 2 years unlimited / limited km. Customers also get the option of a 3-year Annual Maintenance Package at the time of purchase of the car at a starting price of Rs 11,670 for three years / 30,000 kms, whichever is earlier.
