According to a media report, the City hatchback is set to replace the Jazz in the Asia-Oceania region.
The report states that the fourth generation Jazz will not be launched in Malaysia. Instead, the car will be replaced by the City hatchback which was unveiled earlier this month.
The new Jazz is said to have been developed for the Japanese and European markets, while the City hatchback is designed to fulfill the requirements of South East Asian consumers. The move is said to be part of a wider product rationalization exercise undertaken by Honda HQ.
Speaking of the Indian market, it is still unclear if the Jazz will be axed in favour of the City hatchback. Moreover, a crossover like the ZR-V could be an ideal replacement. In fact, rumours suggest that Honda is planning to launch the new sub-4 meter crossover in May 2021.
