Hero MotoCorp could import Harley Davidson bikes in India

According to a media report, Harley-Davidson is in talks with Hero MotoCorp for a distribution agreement. If the talks are successful, then Hero MotoCorp could be appointed as the brand's importer and distributor for India.

These rumours have surfaced just a day after Harley-Davidson announced that it was wrapping up its India business. The company is closing down its manufacturing facility and reducing its sales team as part of a global restructuring plan.

The report further states that since Harley-Davidson is shutting down its factory, Hero MotoCorp could build one of Harley's bikes on a contract basis. The new model is likely to be get a 300-600cc engine.

While Harley-Davidson has not confirmed these rumours, reports of a possible collaboration with Hero MotoCorp have been circulating in the media for some time.
