China-based Great Wall Motors is planning to enter the Indian market and its first offering could be the Haval H6 Coupe SUV. In a new development, the car was recently spotted in India for the first time.
The Haval H6 Coupe is based on the Haval Coupe C concept that was showcased at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. It has been updated for MY2019. It features a hexagonal grille flanked by sweptback headlamps that look similar to those on the Hyundai Creta. The front bumper houses large fog lamp pods with LED daytime running lights. The test car appears to have roof rails and a panoramic sunroof.
In China, the Haval H6 Coupe is available with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 167 BHP and comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Reports suggest that Great Wall Motors will be setting up a manufacturing unit in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 7,000-8,000 crore. The company could launch its first product in India in 2021.
