Harley-Davidson Roadster and Road Glide Special launched

Harley-Davidson has launched two new bikes in India - the Roadster and the Road Glide Special. The American motorcycle manufacturer has also updated and launched its 2017 range of bikes. Under the new range, all bikes in Harley's Indian portfolio have been equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and have received a few cosmetic updates.

The Harley-Davidson Roadster is powered by a 1,200 cc, V-twin, air-cooled engine that develops 96 Nm of torque. The bike is equipped with a 4-inch digital instrument cluster that shows speed, RPMs, time, trip meter, gear indicator and other warning lights. Harley-Davidson has priced the Roadster at Rs. 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The other bike launched today is the Harley-Davison Road Glide Special. It is powered by a 1,745 cc, V-twin Milwaukee Eight engine that develops 150 Nm of torque. Features include a 6.5-inch digital instrument cluster, an audio system, and adjustable rear suspension. This bike has been priced at Rs. 32.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Additionally, as part of its new model line-up for 2017, Harley's Touring Range of bikes (that include Road King, Street Glide Special and the newly-launched Road Glide Special) will be equipped with the same Milwaukee Eight engine, though each model will get a different state of tune. Harley claims that the new engines will result in a power increment of 10% on the three models. Suspension components on the Touring Range have also been updated to offer more pre-load adjustment.

Meanwhile, Harley's entry-level offering in India - the Street 750 has been given two new colour options (Vivid Black Deluxe and Fire Red Deluxe) as part of the MY 2017 update. The Street 750, now priced at Rs. 4,91,000, continues to be the most affordable bike in Harley's portfolio.
