Ford Everest (next-gen Endeavour) awarded 5 stars by ANCAP

The Ford Everest has scored a 5-star rating in Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) crash tests. The SUV managed and overall score of 35.98 out of 37. In the frontal offset test, the vehicle scored 15.38 points out of 16, while in the side impact test and pole test, it managed 16 out of 16 and 2 out of 2 respectively.

The report states that the passenger compartment held its shape well in the offset test. Pedal and steering wheel displacements were well controlled. Driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable and all doors remained closed during the crash. After the crash all doors could be opened with normal effort.

The ANCAP awarded 16 out of 16 points to the Everest in the side impact test based on previous experience. The organisation expects large vehicles like it to perform well. 

The inclusion of curtain airbags meant that the Everest had to undergo a side pole test.It was awared 2 points out of 2 for head protection.

Whiplash protection has been rated as good, while pedestrian protection is marked acceptable.

The Everest comes with dual frontal, side, head and knee airbags are standard. The SUV also gets ABS, EBD and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), seat belt reminders for the front and second row seats as standard and crash avoidance features are available on higher-priced variants.

The Everest will be sold in India as the Ford Endeavour.
