Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 unveiled

Ferrari has unveiled the Monza SP1 and SP2. These limited-edition cars are categorized under a new series called "Icona".

The Monza SP1 and SP2 draw inspiration from the Ferrari models of the 1950s. They measure 4,657 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width and have a height of 1,155 mm. The dry weights of the SP1 and SP2 are 1,500 kg and 1,520 kg respectively.

The Ferrari SP1 and SP2 are similar in design. However, the former can seat only one, while the later has space for a passenger. The overall design of the cars is based on the Ferrari barchettas of the past, such as the 1948 166 MM, the 750 Monza and the 860 Monza. The cars feature a single-wing design with no windscreen or roof. The SP1 gets a tonneau cover while the SP2 gets a dual seat, dual roll cage setup.

The SP1 and SP2 get a forward opening single-piece carbon fibre bonnet, sleek headlamps, 5-spoke alloy wheels and contrast coloured brake callipers. The seats get racing safety harness, while the doors open upwards. The exterior body panels are made of carbon fibre. Ferrari has used ‘virtual windshield’ which adds elements on the steering wheel and the instrument panel to divert part of the air flow.

Both cars are powered by a 6.5-litre, V12 petrol engine that develops 809 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 719 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Ferrari claims a 0-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds, a 0-200 km/h time of 7.9 seconds and a top speed of over 300 km/h.

Ferrari claims that these cars are designed for select clients and collectors.
