Earlier this year, Datsun had disclosed that it will introduce its third product for India in 2016. The new product is believed to be the production version of the Redi-Go concept that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Now a test mule of the vehicle has been spotted.
While the spy image show the Redi-Go wearing a lot of camouflage, its rear design appears to very close to that of the concept.
The Redi-Go will be Datsun's entry-level hatchback and will be positioned below the Go hatchback. It will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon in the A segment. It will use Renault-Nissan's CMF-A platform, which is also found in the Renault Kwid.
To power the Redi-Go, Datsun is expected to use the Kwid's 800cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine. It is also likely to get the same 5-speed manual gearbox as the Kwid.
