Chennai: Honda offers discount on repairs of flood-hit cars

Earlier this month, Maruti Suzuki announced that it was offering a discounted service package for vehicles damaged in the floods in Tamil Nadu. Following in its footsteps, Honda has announced that it is taking measures to support repair activities of flood affected Honda cars in Chennai.

The company has waived off the labour charges for the repair of affected cars. It is also providing a 10% discount on the spare parts and 50% discount on value added services like anti-rust and paint protection. 

Additionally, owners of 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler, whose vehicles have been affected during the floods, can avail loyalty points of up to Rs. 20,000 on buying a new Honda car. For customers with affected cars, who wish to exchange with a new Honda car, Honda has announced an exchange bonus of up to Rs. 30,000.

Honda claims that it has sent the parts required to cope with the repair activities to its Chennai warehouse. Other essential parts are being sent by air from other Honda warehouses at no additional cost. 

The company also claims to have instructed its dealerships to take additional space to receive the flood affected cars. Technical manpower from Honda and nearby dealerships has also been sent to workshops.

Honda is also working with all insurance partners to expedite the claim process and has activated its road-side assistance partners to move the affected cars to Honda workshops on priority.
