BMW X7 spotted in India

The BMW X7, which made its debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, has been spotted in India. According to a media report, the luxury SUV will be launched on January 31, 2019.

The X7 is based on the Concept X7 iPerformance that was unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show. It measures 5,151 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width and 1,805 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 3,105 mm.

The X7 features a large twin-kidney grille finished in chrome and flanked by slim twin-pod LED headlamps. It has a dual-slat air dam with a silver skid plate and vents on either side. The car has an upright stance typical of SUVs. At the rear, it has wraparound tail lights with chrome detailing and twin chrome exhaust tips.

Reports suggest that BMW is likely to offer the X7 M50d in India. This variant is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces 394 BHP @ 4,400 rpm and peak torque of 760 Nm @ 2,000-3,000 rpm. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The new BMW X7 will compete with the Land Rover Discovery and Mercedes-Benz GLS in India.
