BMW Motorrad India has announced that pre-bookings for the G 310 R and G 310 GS will open on June 8, 2018. Customers will be able to pre-book their motorcycles at any BMW Motorrad dealerships in India by paying a token amount of Rs. 50,000. The bikes will be delivered on a 'first come, first serve' basis.
The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS share the same chassis. The G 310 R is a naked street bike, while the latter is an adventure touring bike, which takes inspiration from the bigger GS series bikes from BMW's line up. It has a 19-inch front wheel and longer travel suspension compared to the G 310 R. Both use the same 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which produces 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
BMW Motorrad has partnered with TVS Motors to build the G 310 R and G 310 GS at the latter's production facility near Bangalore. Currently, BMW Motorrad dealers in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kochi will be taking orders for the new models. Upcoming dealerships in Chandigarh and Kolkata will start accepting bookings post launch.
