Bajaj to take over Triumph India's sales & marketing ops

All existing Triumph dealerships will remain exclusive to the brand.

Bajaj Auto is set to take over Triumph India's sales and marketing operations.

The British motorcycle brand currently operates 15 dealerships in India. These will be merged with Bajaj Auto's extensive retail network of over 6,000 dealers and sub-dealers. However, all existing Triumph dealerships will remain exclusive to the brand. It will also be the fifth separate dealer network under Bajaj, after KTM, Chetak Electric and the brand's 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler businesses.

It is said that this strategy of merging Triumph dealerships with Bajaj will help the company rapidly expand the exclusive Triumph stores in India in preparation for the upcoming products. Speaking of which, Triumph and Bajaj are co-developing a new mid-sized motorcycle. It is in its final development phase, with prototypes undergoing road trials.

Bajaj Auto plans to launch Triumph dealerships in over 120 cities in the next two years.
