Next-gen 2018 Porsche Cayenne images leaked before unveil

Pictures of the soon to be unveiled 2018 Porsche Cayenne have surfaced on the internet. The new Cayenne sits on a MLB Evo platform that also underpins the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga.

Up front, the car gets a revised grill, beefier air intakes and slimmer LED daytime running lamps. The familiar headlamps are retained but the hood design has been changed. The wheelbase appears to have increased and the roofline is sloping rather than the flat one on the previous version. The rear quarter glass has been reduced in size to give a squat stance at the rear. The biggest change to the rear is the new tail lamp design that is similar to the Panamera Sport Turismo. The tail lamps are now joined with a slim red LED line running across the tailgate.

While the exterior is familiar, interiors get a complete revamp. A widescreen central display sits above the new central console and gets digital controls similar to the Panamera. The cabin is filled with beige leather interiors and wood trims. The driver's console gets a two-display instrument cluster.

While the exact details will be announced soon, the 2018 Cayenne is expected to get the 3-litre V6 turbo petrol making 330 BHP and 448 Nm of torque and a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol generating 440 BHP and 548 NM of torque. The 4.1-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel from the current line-up is expected to be carried forward. With the focus shifting to hybrid and electric vehicles, two options of hybrid powertrains based on the Panamera S E-Hybrid could also be available.
