2016 Hyundai Elantra launched at Rs. 12.99 lakh

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been launched in India at prices starting from Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options, and will be distributed over five variants: S, SX, SX AT, SX(O), and SX(O) AT.

The Diesel Elantra is powered by a 1.6-litre, CRDi engine with 126 BHP and 260 Nm of torque. The Elantra petrol gets a 2.0-litre, Dual VTVT engine that develops 150 BHP and 192 Nm of torque. Both these engines are available with an option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The sixth-gen Elantra is 20 mm longer and 25 mm wider than the model it replaces. It gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a chromed front grille, LED taillights, and 16-inch alloys. Other comfort features include start/stop button, electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and an electronic sunroof.

Hyundai has equipped the interiors of the Elantra with advanced features like drive mode select, auto cruise control, keyless entry, armrest for both front and rear seats, and USB/AUX-IN/Bluetooth capabilities. It also gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2016 Elantra will be available in five colours: Marina Blue, Polar White, Sleek Silver, Phantom Black, and Passion Red.

Hyundai India has made it clear that the current prices are just initial tags, and will be increased in January 2017. The 2016 Elantra prices are as follows (ex-showroom, Delhi).
