2015 Jaguar C-X17 luxury crossover concept teased

Tata Motors owned British luxury car maker Jaguar is all set to showcase a luxury crossover concept next week, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With the motor show barely a week away, the leaks have begun in full earnest. The leaked image depicting the front end of the Jaguar C-X17 luxury crossover concept has hit the interweb, as this CarScoop report reveals. Apart from the front end of the luxury crossover, a darkened image of the C-X17's concept's profile has been officially released by Jaguar.

While other profiles remain unavailable currently, expect more images of the C-X17 to be made available over the next few days. From the leaked image, it is evident that the C-X17 luxury crossover retains the familiar family design lines of Jaguar. The crossover comes across as a raised, butch version of Jaguar saloons such as the XF and the XJ. The C-X17 concept will be based on the British luxury marque's new modular aluminium architecture.

The modular architecture will adopt the use of aluminium for construction of cars across Jaguar's range as the British brand seeks to be an industry leader in the use of light weight aluminium for the construction of road going cars. As its name suggests, the modular architecture will also underpin new Jaguar cars such as the entry-level sedan that the brand is developing, which will compete with the likes of the BMW 3-Series and the Audi A4.

The production version of the C-X17 luxury crossover concept is a strong contender for a launch in the Indian car market given the strong sales and suitability that luxury crossovers and SUVs exhibit in India. On a similar note, Jaguar is expected to launch the entry-level sedan in India, as a car aimed at garnering good volumes. The Indian luxury car market has been growing at a good pace and luxury car makers across the globe are eyeing new launches to boost sales in this promising market.
