1300 km drive with my 2023 Nexon MT: 5 things I liked & a few niggles

The best fuel efficiency figure I managed was an impressive 21 km/l.

BHPian sinharishi recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Drove the all-new Nexon Petrol MT for 1300 kms to Manali, Sissu, Keylong and back.

Some observations:

  1. Fearless is loaded with features. The full digital MID looks good. I had trip info which displayed total trip km and FE+ speed/RPM + DTE view throughout the trip.
  2. Apple carplay worked flawlessly! Every time the low fuel warning came up, Carplay sent a notification to the phone to look for the nearest petrol pumps. I never saw this on my Slavia while using Carplay.
  3. The 3-cyl is vocal at most times except when you are cruising between 2-2.2K rpm. 100 km/h comes up a little over 2k in 6th gear.
  4. Comfortable mile muncher. Never felt tired driving it. We drove through the night from Ghaziabad to Manali. Our drive time to Manali was 8.5 hrs.
  5. The best and most impressive highlight was the ride quality. The way it glides over bad roads is just amazing! The damping on the car is impressive again, and the sounds transferred into the cabin is very low.

Niggles: Not too many to report but the indicators would function weirdly, if I am indicating right and turn left - entering a roundabout, the indicators would turn off. The misaligned MID, infotainment system is an eyesore! The car also had misaligned headlights, the right beams pointed high up and the left were too low.

Overall FE was 17 km/l. The best was seen on return between Chandigarh and Delhi where we saw 21 km/l.

Had a great trip overall. Sharing some pictures:
