Hyundai is reportedly planning to launch the next-gen Verna in India later this year. A leaked screenshot of an internal company presentation indicates that Hyundai has slated the Verna (which is internationally named the Accent) for a launch in August 2017.

Hyundai had unveiled the new-gen Verna in China in September last year. Based on the company's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, the new Verna gets some comprehensive cosmetic updates over the current model. These include a low-slung front fascia that houses a large hexagonal grille and swept-back headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps. The side profile features a sloping roof line and new petal-shaped alloy wheels. Rear-end of the car gets a relatively plain look, with a pair of wrap-around twin-section tail lamps. The Indian-spec Verna might get some mild cosmetic alterations, as compared to the China-spec model that has been pictured here.

Official details about the powertrain options that will be available with the new-gen Verna haven't surfaced yet. However, speculations suggest that Hyundai will continue to offer it with the existing 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines that power the current model.
