Michael Schumacher critical following skiing accident

Formula 1 legend, Michael Schumacher is said to be in critical condition after a skiing accident. The incident happened in the French Alps, where he was on a personal trip.

Even though he was wearing a helmet, the 44-year old, racing ace suffered serious head trauma after falling and hitting his head on a rock. While Michael was a bit shaken, but, conscious immediately after the accident, he is believed to have lost consciousness and slipped into a coma, while being transported to the medical facility by helicopter.

Michael Schumacher is best known for achievements in Formula 1, where he holds an unbeaten record of seven WDCs. He won two titles with the Benetton Formula 1 team in 1994 and 1995 and five back to back titles with Scuderia Ferrari from 2000 to 2004. He retired from the sport, for the first time, at the end of the 2006 season. He returned to Formula 1 in 2010 with the Mercedes GP team, where he partnered Nico Rosberg, till his retirement at the end of 2012.
