Last week, Kia unveiled the Carens Clavis for the Indian market. While bookings are already open, prices will be announced on May 23.
The Carens Clavis is essentially an updated version of the existing Carens, which will be sold alongside the new model. The Carens Clavis is available in seven variants: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX and HTX+, while the standard Carens will be offered in a single Premium (O) trim.
The Carens Clavis features a redesigned exterior with the brand’s signature Digital Tiger Face with Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps, LED DRLs, Starmap LED connected taillamps, and new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
Inside, the Carens Clavis offers 3-row seating. The 2-row seats can slide and recline and have a one-touch electric tumble function. The car comes with a 26.62-inch dual panoramic display featuring the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, a seat-mounted air purifier, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
The Carens Clavis will be available with three engine options. These include the 1.5L Petrol, 1.5L Turbo Petrol and 1.5L Diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DCT.
