India-bound 2024 Lexus LM minivan revealed

Lexus has taken the wraps off the next-generation LM minivan at the Shanghai Auto Show. The carmaker plans to launch it in 60 countries for the first time, and that includes India.

The Lexus LM is a luxury minivan featuring sliding rear doors for better ingress and egress. The new-generation LM is based on a revised platform that is said to be 50% more rigid than its predecessor. It is equipped with the brand's 'AVS Suspension with Frequency-Sensitive Piston Valve' that is claimed to offer a smoother ride and reduce vibrations.

The 2024 Lexus LM gets a redesigned exterior but retains its bold front fascia. It has a large, upright grille and sleek LED headlamps and a wraparound LED light bar that extends across the rear fascia.

Inside, the LM offers seating for 4, 6 and 7 persons, with the 4-seater being the most luxurious of the range. It features a 48-inch widescreen display that separates the driver's cabin from the rear compartment, a refrigerator, and an advanced air-conditioning system that detects the temperature of a passenger's face, chest, thighs and lower legs.

The Lexus LM is available with two 4-cylinder hybrid powertrains. These include 2.4-litre and 2.5-litre engines paired with hybrid systems.
