Hyundai Tucson diesel: 13 pros & cons after 10,000 km

The SUV has been returning a fuel efficiency of 16 km/l. I mostly drive on the highways in the "normal" mode.

BHPian Mathan1130 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Clocked 10,000 KMS with Tucson in 7 months

Below are my likes, dislikes & other observations.

Pros

  1. The 2L Diesel engine is a gem that offers ample torque & is punchy.
  2. The 8-speed auto is remarkably smooth & very intuitive.
  3. Rear seat offers ample leg room even for a passenger who is 6’2".
  4. Fuel efficiency - My average so far has been 16Kmpl. I mostly drive on Highways in “Normal” mode.
  5. Huge 540 litres boot can easily swallow four large suitcases.
  6. 360-degree camera display is clear and gives multiple view options.
  7. Panoramic sunroof makes the cabin light up well.
  8. Level 2 ADAS technology.

Cons

  1. The seats are light grey and they show stains quite easily.
  2. Bose audio is let down. I would just rate it 4 out of 10.
  3. Wireless Android Auto/Apple Car-play.
  4. No USB-C port.
  5. No fog lights & average headlight throw.

Service Update

Got the first free service done a couple of days back. There were no replacements of any parts.

  • Oil Filter & Air filter Replacement
  • AdBlue top-up was done

Got the following done outside:

  • Engine Oil replacement
  • Tyre Rotation & wheel balancing

Final verdict

I have had no complaints so far with the vehicle. Very happy with the purchase decision. Tucson offers amazing power / stunning design & lots of space with premium interiors.
