Ford unveils Figo concept

Ford has unveiled the Figo concept compact sedan ahead of the 12th Auto Expo.

The Figo sedan sports Ford’s new design language with a trapezoidal grille, elongated and blacked-out headlamps and muscular body. The length of the car has been kept under four metres, which will make it eligible for excise concessions.

It is unclear what engines will power the Figo concept. However, Ford is likely to use its existing power plants or their derivates. This means the Figo concept will get either a 1.2-litre or 1.5-litre petrol engine. A 1.0-litre petrol unit and a 1.5-litre, diesel motor are also likely to be considered for the car.

The Figo concept has been equipped with flexible, power-fold mirrors, and a device dock, which enables users to store, mount and charge gadgets like mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, which can be integrated into the car’s in-car entertainment system.

The Ford Figo concept will compete with the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and other sub 4-metre sedans in India.
