According to a media report, the first electric car from Lexus will be a hatchback.
The car is likely to get its design inspiration from the 2015 LF-SA concept. It is expected to be a tall, boxy city car and will reportedly come with a spindle grille. It is also said that the car will have a futuristic design compared to other Lexus cars. On the inside, the car is expected to come with the next-generation infotainment system with a pair of screens on either side of the steering wheel.
Although there are no details of the powertrain, Lexus is looking to have in-wheel electric motors for all four wheels. It is reported that the carmaker is also looking at plug-in hybrids as well as hydrogen fuel cell cars.
The concept version of the electric hatchback is expected to be showcased at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.
