DSK-Hyosung to launch Aquila 250 at Auto Expo 2014

DSK-Hyosung has announced that it will launch the Aquila 250 and display two new motorcycles at the 2014 Auto Expo.

The Aquila 250 cruiser, which will be launched at the event, will feature a 249 cc, oil-cooled, 4-stroke, 8-valve, V-Twin engine, producing 26.21 bhp @ 9500 rpm. The bike gets a single disc brake and a drum brake at the front and rear respectively. Hyosung is expected to price the bike at more than Rs. 2 lakh.

This will be the second time the Aquila will be launched in India. In 2003, Hyosung in association with Kinetic had introduced the bike in the country, but had to pull it out owing to poor sales and unavailability of spares.

Joining the Aquila at the Hyosung pavilion will be the GD 250 N, a naked street bike, which is expected to get a 249 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, developing 28 bhp, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The GD 250 N is likely to be equipped with single petal disc brakes on both the wheels.

Another bike that Hyosung plans to display at the Expo is the RT 125 D, which is expected to be powered 125 cc, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine. Pictures suggest that the bike is equipped with a telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Stopping power for the RT 125 D will come from a single disc brake on the front wheel and a drum at the rear.

Hyosung has not revealed any plans of launching the GD 250 N and the RT 125 D in India.
