All new Jaguar XF makes its public debut in New York

After a reveal in March, Jaguar has officially debuted the new XF sedan at the ongoing New York motor show. The all-new XF range will consist of the XF Pure / SE, XF Prestige, XF R-Sport, XF Portfolio and XF S. The new car is built along Jaguar's aluminium intensive architecture and the car is lighter than the outgoing XF by around 190 kgs.

The all-new XF is 4,954 mm long and the 2,960 mm wheelbase is 51 mm larger than the outgoing model. Though 7 mm shorter and 3 mm lower than the original XF, rear seats get 15 mm more legroom, 24 mm more knee-room and up to 27 mm more headroom than before. Aerodynamics are also superior: the drag coefficient drops from 0.29 to 0.26.

Power comes from 2 diesel and 2 petrol engines in a total of 5 states of tune. The diesels are offered with a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the petrol mills only get the automatic. The diesels produce between 161 BHP – 296 BHP, while the petrols start at 237 BHP and go up to 375 BHP.

The all-new XF will be manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich plant alongside the all-aluminium F-Type and XJ. More details on the new XF can be found here
