900 km with my Windsor EV: Overall range, likes & dislikes

Overall, quite satisfied with the purchase and looking forward to share experience after a month or two.

BHPian AKconnect recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Here is my short ownership experience with the MG so far.

Model: Essence, Turquoise green

Booking date: some time in Sept

Delivery date - 6/11 evening (looks like green colour was not there for long)

Km done - 900

Real Range - Last two cycles of 220+ KM with approximate 30%-32% SOC remaining (started at 100%), which translate into range of around 305KM - 315KM. Driven in Eco/Eco+ with heavy regen (works well for me). When driven in Normal, range was not too different - around 290-300KM. I am positively surprised by range.

What I liked - SPACE , value at this price, good number of modern features, approach lock feature, fact that you are able to track charging using ISmart.

What could have been better - Yes, ride quality in very rough roads is a bit stiff (I have seen that in some German cars as well). I adapted to the same by going slow in pat-holes and it’s about getting used to I guess.

Other aspects

  • I did not find external noise creeping in too much. NVH for the price of car is good in my view.
  • I am using the customisable steering button for modes and it helps
  • A few people mentioned about concerns around OVRM setting. I am using the left steering controls for the same rather than screen and I am used to it now.

Overall, quite satisfied with the purchase and looking forward to share experience after a month or two.

BTW, I already have charged installed at home as this is our second EV.
