So, apparently, the Trend variant is made-to-order these days, and it is getting difficult to procure a Canyon Ridge one too. I was asked to give another choice in colour last week, and I went for - Race Red.

Car should be with me during Navratri.

Congratulations, Prathik! The Aspire seems like a surprise to me. While I thought it was the Ecosport S or the Creta which would come in your garage. The Freestyle did get your attention for a long while. But the Aspire is totally a revelation. That's a great deal you're getting there. Keep me updated about the Aspire.

Wishing you many miles and happy smiles with the Aspire

Re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

After a lot of deliberation and TDs between Marazzo and XUV, opted for XUV.

Make : Mahindra
Model : XUV500
Variant : W9 AT
Fuel : Diesel
Booking Date : 06/10/2018
Color : Silver
Expected Delivery Date : Hopefully by Dasara 18th Oct
Dealer & City : Sahyadri, Baner, Pune
Freebies : None :(
On road Price: 19.22 lakhs (ex showroom + RTO + Handling/fasttag + TCS)

I decided to take insurance from outside taking the benefit of NCB on other car. the total premium reduced by almost 27k.

Didn't opt for extended warranty, RSA and Accessories worth 10k.

Fingers crossed!!

According to the article it seems to be raining discounts, i didn't get much from Toyota for Fortuner looks like they are giving discounts for Yaris. Is anyone getting any discounts on new cars?

BMW 7 series getting 14L discount, must be like deal of the year .

Sahil why didn't you go for the 2 wheel drive diesel ? Since it's driver driven all the time might as well get that and a few extra kms per litre . Trust me the 2.0 engine is underpowered .

Quoting from a previous post of mine:

Quote:
Why did I pick the petrol over the diesel:
- Urban usage
- More boot space as this car will be used for airport runs. The last row of seats in my Fortuner were used less than 8 times in 8 years.
- CVT. Although this a major drawback for me personally, the car will be 95% chauffeured. The CVT is the smoothest transmission for Mumbai traffic, we have had a CVT Honda city in the past that proved this.
- Better headroom and legroom at the rear seats
- Grey future of diesels.

I had specifically requested Sep or Oct manufactured car. SA says he already has the car in stock at his stock yard, but is cagey about providing any more details. I have asked for VIN which he is yet to share.

In the meantime, Finance guy is chasing me for completing loan and full payment formalities. I wanted to ask friends here - at what point, does a card get tagged against my booking? I mean, if I complete loan formalities and make remaining balance towards full payment, can he then allocate an older car to me and claim that invoicing is already done against it?

The other part is dealer has asked me to obtain CC for my old car. Today I find that it requires some documents from the car dealer (aka buyer). Working thru it.

Request to Mods: My apologies if this is not post-able in this thread, kindly move my post and point me to the correct sub-forum.

.
Ask for VIN no. Plain and simple. If he provides that in writing go for loan else there is something fishy.

If the dealer wants to sell you the car and wants to do it transparently, you need to ask for anything only once.
I paid my booking amount on 22nd, applied for loan on 25th which was approved on 26th, car got unloaded from truck on 29th, got the VIN on 30th, did yard PDI on 1st & paid the balance on 1st itself.
You can, at any point of time before the loan is dirbursed, choose to opt out if you feel that the a bait and switch is being played (i.e a newer car has been displayed to you and an older car is being invoiced) - thus it is very important to track the VIN from start to closure.
