Booked a Linea emotion mjd today, the OTR price without discount is 11.08 lakhs. Got a good deal, got 8 lakh loan at 5 percent p.a and another 35k off + zero dep insurance at price of comprehensive. I had the choice of either taking finance at 5 percent or a lakh off. Obviously, finance made more sense. Will get delivery by 15th October. Btw the color is Oceanic blue.

Congrats. What is tenure of loan? Is loan @5% offer announced recently?

Thanks, 5 years, actually the fiat came up with this scheme for active only, so we asked them if we could get same on emotion, obviously of same amount. As fiat have tie up with hdfc for same, so they agreed for it, given we let them include this 1 lakh discount into this scheme. Though, over the period of 5 years, the benefit we'll get will be well over 1 lakh.

Did you get both 1L off + loan @ 5% interest rate?

If you got only the loan benefit, total interest amount you would be paying for 8L loan over 5 years at 5% interest raye is 1.05L.

I would say get 1L discount now and put that money in a fixed deposit.
You will be making a gain of over 50K over a period of five years.

Nope, I had the choice of either 5 percent loan or 1 lakh off. I chose the loan at 5 percent.

I agree with your point of keeping it in fd, but then i'll also be paying the loan at 10.75 percent compared to 5 percent.

Can you let us know the details on the loan ? 5 % is quite surprising as the current rate is 10.75 % (SBH) if I am not wrong. Little more details will help.
