Any news about the Madras Heritage Motoring CLub Vintage Car Rally in Chennai. It was scheduled to happen on 29th August 2010 at Don Bosco School in Egmore in Chennai with some 60 Odd Cars and 15 Bikes confirmed for participation. Any TBHPians going there??. I am in Chennai and plan to be there. PM me if anyone has any news on this or TBHPians are coming there..

Yes, it is on. I am participating with two of my vehicles. A 1938 Merc 170V and a 1946 Morris 8 Series "E" Tourer.

I saw what I think was a blue Topolino today at Kotturpuram along with another couple of cars I could not idently. They all looked in great shape but parked by the side of the road. Waiting for more pics

I too am waiting for pictures. I understand that a foreign Mercedes 190SL made an appearance, car appears to be new in this country.
DGK was supposed to have been there, can you add info to this Merc? Came from Australia? I also heard that your Chevy did not make an appearance?

Correction, DKG and the Chevy were there, DKG's boss drove the Chevy.
The 190SL was indeed there, on foreign number plates, and the car was actually quite shabby. Maybe came to India for restoration?
Can the Chennai members please post pictures?

Dear Harit,

My Dad was in Chennai on an invitation of a local collector. I have some pictures of the 190SL and will post late in the evening. My Dad was also saying that it was quite shabby.

We had a great meet today in the company of a whole lot of very beautiful vintage and classic cars.

There were even Team-BHPian participants in the rally.
* Member C.S.Ananth brought close to TEN vintage vehicles including a riley
* Member Jai3033 brought 3 vintage and classic vehicles including a Chevrolet 1935 woody
* Member Dussey brought a few from his collection
* Hyderabad member DKG was present in a traditional attire for the award winning entry.
