Speaking of dashboards, I was in the UK visiting a friend late last summer and he picked me up at the rural railway station near his country house in a 1924 Bentley. Here are pictures of the dash of his Bentley, as we wound our way through the quiet village to his farmhouse. On another day, we drove fifty miles at about 60 MPH in his second car, an early twenties Vauxhall 30/98, to join a few mates of his at a village pub. They turned up in their steeds, another 30/98, and an early veteran Daimler special. It was utter automotive bliss!

This is an extraordinary photo of a 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet. Bought one new after serving two years in Korea. How fondly I remember it.

Veldeep, thanks (sorry for the delayed thanks after more than a year) for the lovely dash of a once common but today very rare car (rarer than older Rolls Royces and Mercs in India). Seeing one after a long time. But there's a surprise element here!
The speedo is located to the left and the gauge meter towards the driver. Is that the original configuration? Your speedo though a Smiths appears to be akin to the one fitted in older Heralds.
