Cadillacs in India
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintage-cars-classics-india/72675-cadillacs-india.html)
On doing a long and time consuming search I couldn't locate a tread dedicated to the mighty Cadillac cars in India.
Let me kick it off in style with two amazing specimens of this very well loved breed.
One is a seven seater sedan and the other is a convertible, both belonging to a collector in Hyderbad and photographed by me way back in time at a vintage car event in Hyderabad.
I had also written an article on this event for teh then new Overdrive Magazine, don't remember the precise issue where it featured though.
Both these cars have a Royal pedigree, not sure from which house they hail respectively but I am sure we will lear about this here shortly.
They were completely restored by this collector who has a dedicated team working exclusively on his property restoring and maintaining his superb collection.
I will let the pictures do the talking !
Here are the pictures of the "sister" Cadillac convertible.
Caddy's in my opion are nice big cars but many think that then area waste of money and are huge and ugly looking. But come to think of it in that era most cars were big and hug so why a discriminations for caddy's ?Well thatis my own opinion.
Wasif is this thread meant for consolidating and adding pics of various cars in this forum and out side this forum?
Yes my dear friend. Feel free to add, discuss, critique whatever and lets have a ball doing that !
1952 Cadillac series 62 owned by team-bhpian speedy
1947 Cadillac convertible
1947 Cadillac
I know there are many more cars in this forum which i havn't posted pics of, so others also please share some pics.
Thanks for sharing Wasif. The car is truly imposing, and I especially like the 'sober' finish to the restoration. There are a couple more huge Caddy limos with the collection, including a 30s car, an ex Nizam 50's limo and a '60 that I remember.

Are you sure this car is part of the same collection? Also a super car no doubt.

This is from the Krishnamma collection if I'm not mistaken. I remember you featuring this car with the caption "Pax Americana!....." in your article for Overdrive ('was around Feb.-March '99 IIRC)
I rarely got to see his cars at shows though, except for the HAIG rally where the MP Sedan was present.
:OT (cant help it, sorry! :D) I remember you mentioning at the end of the article that there was also a Herald conv. at the same show- was that yours?

Hey Karl.
I am positive both cars belonged to that collecter. In those days these were the only two cadillacs with him.
Its news to me about the others you have mentioned. Please do tell more and add pics too if possible.
Shyam. No this is not Inder Krishnama's collection but that of another gent who owns a few petrol pumps. The cars are at his residence by the Khairtabad railway gate.
I would suggest you tkae time out to visit Inder Krishnama and see his huge collection. He is a gent and will love to show you his cars. My 55 Bel Air sedan is with him and what is probably the only Chrysler 330C in India amongst other interesting cars.
The Herald Convertible at that show was the Adershnagar car. I was driving Rashid Bhai's silver & black Buick Super
I have the pictures from that event and might upload them soon !

She is a 1956 Cadillac and belongs to my uncle.
@Karl these are the Hyderabad cars. I hope you have taken the owners permission before posting them. He did not seem keen to have the car pictures put on a public forum when i had met him.

I have of course asked before taking the photos and uploading.
Hey Karl
Those two Cadillacs, GJB 3333 and teh one posted by me with the Hindi regestrationa re two different cars though they look very similar and are almost the same colours.
If you compare teh fronts of both you will see that GJB 3333 has two chrome strips on the grille at the bottom which are not there on the Limo I posted,
Do add more pictures of the other Caddies in India too.
Is they any V12 known to anyone on this forum that you can post. Maybe we can persuade Harit to post pics if not jsut discuss the V16 he mentioned.

Of course they are different, the 3 cars I posted were giving company to the car you posted when I photo'd them.

I do intend to do that, since we've a common friend and so I could have him introduce me to IK (I believe he lives at SD Road near the former Sangeet theatre) sometime.

Yes, do please:
Since I'm afraid I lost the issue that had your article about the event a long time ago! Maybe when our old house was sold.
