I love these nostalgic Fiat pics! Really good.!!

The Fiat in the Second pic, is it a Select or a Super Select? I think its a Select with Super Select grill. Did Select have that type of Air Filter??!

I remember reading that you were also confused if your Blue and White was Select or Super Select during restoration.

That's my dad's 1959 select - Sometime in the 70s, he switched over to a superselect grille, as it was "sturdier" !! Yes, it did have that type of air filter, as long as I remember.. IMHO, early selects did come with this type of filter.

The last picture is me with my first ride. She was red, pedal powered, with working lights and a horn. With chrome bumpers, and "tailfin" styling, complete !
Hey ravi, nice to see more old pics. from your album! How I wish I had as many to share from my family! :(

Whose car is the first select (BMC)? Any news of her later?

'looks like your family was into selects in a big way- so, you ought to get one next to do justice to them! Especially to your dad's car!

I believe the same was the case of pull starter. Till time the kits were there they had the Elegent stuff on them. But do we have a definite timeline for that??

BMC 8330 belonged to my maternal grandfather. He changed cars every three years, so he's owned the entire Fiat 1100 family over thirty years !! No sign of this or any other car today :(

How I wish I get a select.. MRX 6839 needs company !

Fiatful memories, part III.

Pictures from:
1) Tulsi Pipe road, Mumbai, circa 1980.
2) An industrial / commercial complex. The "White Fiat" was the preferred steed for middle and upper level management, right through the eighties.

My uncle's pedal car looked pretty similar with a 9 on its side. I think they're the same model except yours had Mustang written on the side and his had Airlane Special. Maybe there were different stickers on either side. I guess this was the most popular model of the time. Do you remember where you bought her from or anything else about her? Do you still have her?

Hey Adhish, the two pedal cars are identical !! Mine was bought sometime around 1972- No idea where from - We gave her away sometime in the early eighties due to shortage of space. Lovely car that was, wish I'd kept her !!

Yup, Ram had posted some pics earlier. Here is one I had posted when I saw the jalopy in 2007 or so.

Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars-44.jpg

She was standing in a compound in Wai, a short distance from Mahabaleshwar. Probably the last survivor of the famous Mahableshwar Panchgani cabs.

Fantastic photos. You should preserve these photographs very carefully
as they are records of bygone days. The fact that they have vehicles in
them is a bonus for car lovers. Carefully keep them in a strong album and
mothball the album.
